Multifaith Convening: Lessons from Minneapolis

In January, local clergy members Rabbi David Basior and Rabbi Yohanna Kinberg went to Minneapolis, answering MARCH’s for clergy to support the resistance to federal immigration enforcement. They documented their experiences to share with the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice community, and we shared Rabbi Kinberg’s powerful reflections in our most recent newsletter.

From what we have seen in Minneapolis, and the surge of community support and volunteers locally, we are grounded in the hope that our collective efforts can result in deep solidarity with our migrant neighbors. As we anticipate further threats to migrant communities, we invite you to learn with us and our multifaith partners at our Multifaith Convening: Lessons from Minneapolis on Thursday, March 26, at 6:30 PM.

We know from our partners in other states the vital role people of faith have played to resist the federal government’s overreach and support our migrant neighbors. During this convening, faith leaders who attended the solidarity actions in Minneapolis will share their experience in Minnesota, and we will draw connections to the way faith communities can support migrant community members now, and how to get plugged in if or when there is federal escalation.

This event is co-sponsored the Church Council of Greater Seattle, CAIR, Faith Action Network, and the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice.
